About Us:
DCI/Pathway is a community-based mental health program dedicated to supporting adults living with serious mental illness. Our mission is to promote recovery, dignity, and community engagement through structured support, skill-building, and compassionate care.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a warm, reliable, and organized Cook to prepare noon meals for 25–30 program participants Monday through Thursday. This role goes beyond cooking—it involves engaging empathetically with clients, fostering social interaction, and creating a welcoming dining environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a team-based setting and understands the importance of respectful communication and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve nutritious lunches for 25–30 people, Monday through Thursday.

  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen and dining area, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing food supplies.

  • Work alongside clients on simple kitchen tasks, modeling positive social behavior and encouraging participation.

  • Engage clients in friendly, respectful conversation during mealtimes.

  • Promote and support the development of basic cooking and social skills.

  • Assist with transporting clients to Pathway and other appointments in the community.

  • Cleaning the kitchen, dining room, and other areas of the building.

  • Hours are Monday through Thursday 8am-4:30pm, 32+hours per week (considered full-time and eligible for all benefits).

Qualifications:

  • Experience cooking for groups or in a professional kitchen (required).

  • Understanding of mental health or prior experience working in a behavioral health setting (preferred, but not required).

  • Friendly, patient, and flexible with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Able to pass background checks and hold/obtain a valid driver’s license.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
