The Parole Board Administration Office provides administrative support to a nine-member appointed board for a variety of parole and clemency matters. This position involves performing a wide variety of analysis and review functions, which require the applicant to have sound independent judgment and discretion. This position interacts directly with agency staff, the public, offenders and parolees throughout parole and clemency processes.

Duties Include:

  • Reviewing documents, forms, data and files to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Interpreting and applying policies and procedures to ensure parole and clemency programs function within parameters established by law and regulations
  • Providing technical direction and direction in procedures to agency staff, the courts, the public, attorneys, offenders and parolees and their families, etc.
  • Performing administrative functions to ensure parole and clemency program operations function consistently and efficiently
  • Providing primary administrative support to the clemency (commutation, pardon, and earned discharge) processes
  • Assisting with the administration of the parole (noncompliance, suspended sentence, and contested case) processes


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, public administration, or a related field.

Knowledge of:

  • Laws and Government - Federal and state laws, administrative rules and regulations, court procedures, precedents, and executive orders applicable to parole and clemency programs;
  • Policy - Department of Corrections and Board of Pardons and Paroles policies and procedures;
  • Corrections - Principles of evidenced based practices in corrections; and
  • Technology - Utilize computerized data systems.

  • Written Expression - Communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.


This position reports to the Parole Board Administration Manager.
