Job Description

Overview:

Security Bank’s Credit Analyst position is for an individual wanting to gain knowledge and make a career in the banking world. The Credit Analyst will be responsible for analyzing credit information on current and potential clients, and support loan officers when preparing and processing loans. The Credit Analyst will be the primary support role for loan officers, including building relationships with new and existing clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of financial credits and reports for presentation for loan officers or committees.
  • Analyze the financial statement; evaluate the information and prepare written reports for the lender.
  • Advise loan officers about expiring lines of credit and assist in the renewal of the line.
  • Risk rate, select loans and maintain records on all loans.
  • Assist with continuous review of all loans and commitments to identify potential credit problems.
  • Work with loan officers in setting upcoming loan reviews and work with the manager in scheduling department-wide objectives.
  • Make recommendations regarding credit underwriting to loan officers and/or loan committee.
  • Review all credit presentations to loan committee to ensure accuracy, completeness, and independence.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate preparation of loan committee presentations, annual review, and comments to files.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by loan officers or Bank management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience in agriculture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, ag business, or any finance related area.
  • Strong sense of business opportunities to formulate and implement business development strategies.
  • Strong analytical abilities and detail orientated.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong aptitude for financial calculation.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with Bank and financial software programs.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently or in a team setting.  
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
