REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION LEVEL:High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:Three years custodial experience and one year supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Good physical health including ability to lift 75 pounds, climb to high and difficult places and work at those places. Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walking. Repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers. Frequent bending, crouching, hearing, lifting, pushing and stooping. Occasional carrying, climbing, crawling, pulling, and reaching.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Advanced boiler training and experience with boilers required. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. License for weed spraying. Ability to work unsupervised. Good driving record. Good attendance. Ability to communicate and follow written and oral direction. Ability to demonstrate recognition of equipment malfunction. Demonstrated positive attitude towards people with whom one works, ability to work cooperatively and willingness to accept instructions and training. Subject to call beyond the regular work day and week when emergency situations arise which require immediate attention
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES- Supervises the building's custodial staff.
- Coordinates with building administration all building activities and schedules coverage of custodial staff.
- Coordinates with night supervisor the training of all entry level custodians.
- Assists in the evaluation of custodian job performance and recommends disciplinary action.
- Inspects the performance of custodial staff members, adjusts work load and assignments to compensate for employee absences and emergencies.
- Orders and replenishes custodial and maintenance supplies for the building.
- Coordinates and assists in preventive and corrective maintenance on building environment systems, fixtures and furnishings. Monitors and operates heating, air conditioning, ventilation, water, sewer, electrical and mechanical building environment systems. Checks operation of fire alarm system.
- Sweeps, dusts, arranges furniture, empties trash and pencil sharpeners, cleans chalk boards and sets up for activities. Washes walls, woodwork and windows, and cleans and polishes metal surfaces. Cleans and maintains hard and soft surface floors. Wet mops and spot cleans hard and soft surface floors. Coordinates and assists with cleaning, sanitizing and deodorizing restrooms and locker rooms.
- Coordinates and assists in the maintenance of lawns, landscaping, concrete and blacktop surfaces and playgrounds, including pedestrian walkways snow and ice removal.
- Operates and maintains security systems and opens and secures building as required.
- Works a revised schedule during emergency periods and substitutes for other custodial staff when necessary.
- Shares responsibility for holiday, extended day and weekend activities with other custodial staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

PAY INFORMATION Level NX, Starting at $31.81 per hour
Pay day is the last working day of each month.
HOURS & FTEMonday through Friday, 10:00 am to 6:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break
