Job Requirements
Operation & Application: Safely and efficiently operate self-propelled sprayers, floaters, and other application equipment to apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other crop protection products at approved rates.
Mixing & Loading: Accurately mix and load bulk and packaged chemicals and fertilizers, strictly following label directions and safety protocols.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily vehicle inspections, cleaning, and routine maintenance on application equipment, tender trucks, and support vehicles. Assist mechanics with larger repairs as needed.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate application and spray records, including weather conditions and product usage, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Customer Relations: Communicate effectively with customers regarding application timing, products being used, and service updates to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Agricultural background preferred.
Licensing & Certification:
Possession of or ability to obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator license.
Possession of or ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with applicable endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker) preferred.
Experience: Previous experience operating field application equipment and heavy-duty trucks is a plus.
Skills:
Proficient in operating computers and GPS/variable rate technology on application equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude for equipment upkeep and minor repairs.
Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, especially during peak season.
Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dust, and chemicals.
Must pass a DOT physical and required drug screenings.
