The primary role of this position will be to ensure the community based developmental disabilities system continues to progressively evolve with the changing needs of South Dakotans with ID/DD.

This position will focus on the collection, aggregation, analysis and presentation of data and information used to support the performance of the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and the network of providers supporting participants in DDD's programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and integrating division data to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Trending and tracking program data to identify trends in compliance and quality.
  • Create tools and perform analyses to enable performance measure reporting for waiver compliance.
  • Develop tools, dashboards, and reports for leadership review and decision-making.
  • Leverage integrated datasets to identify issues with quality and compliance.
This position requires some in-state travel.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Knowledge of:
  • data collection and cleaning processes;
  • data cleaning techniques;
  • applicable computer software and operating systems;
  • services and supports for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Ability to:
  • integrate and clean datasets from multiple sources;
  • create data dashboards and visualizations;
  • work efficiently with staff and leaders;
  • communicate information effectively and accurately;
  • exercise sound judgement in the performance of assigned responsibilities;
  • prepare clear and concise documentation, reports and correspondence;
  • analyze and interpret the results of data analysis;
  • present the results of analysis in verbal, written or graphic forms;
  • effectively plan and organize work activities, adjust to multiple demands, and prioritize tasks to complete assignments and meet schedules and deadlines;
  • assume initiative and direction with minimal supervision.
