Job Description:
USD Sanford School of Medicine is seeking a Department Assistant for Internal Medicine. This position supports scheduling and evaluation of medical students within the major divisions of the Department of Internal Medicine with emphasis on managing Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 medical student clerkships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of modern office/clerical procedure and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Experience with office equipment and software including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom along with the ability to quickly learn new technology platforms such as One45 and D2L.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, residents, faculty, and staff.
- Experience working in education.
This position offers state health insurance and benefits, which includes a retirement plan with 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and 11 paid holidays. Employees also have access to internal and state-sponsored training as well as reduced tuition for state-supported courses at all State of South Dakota academic institutions.
