Full Time Deputy Register of Deeds
for
Charles Mix County Register of Deeds Office
As a Deputy Register of Deeds, you will work under the direct supervision of the Register of Deeds and be responsible for performing technical & professional work in recording and filing of documents.
Variety of duties you will perform:
*Perform duties assigned by the Register of Deeds
*Transferring of title on land/property by recording or filing of documents
*Assist the public in genealogical research
*Maintain accurate records and files involving scanning & imaging documents and burning of CD’s
*Process vital statistics- birth, death & marriage certified copies
*Issues marriage licenses
*Recording & Filing of Military Discharges
* Process weekly & monthly reports
*Balances fee book & submits same to County Treasurer/Auditor’s Offices
*Must have High School Diploma or GED
*Must be able to operate office machines
*Must have good computer skills and be highly motivated.
*Must possess good public relation skills and work in a team environment.
*Able to travel and attend workshops.
*Must be accurate and neat in recording documents
*Must be able to meet and deal with public in a friendly, helpful manner
*Starting wage $20.75/hour
*County Paid Health Insurance, Life Insurance, and 6% SDRS Match
*Bi-weekly Pay Periods
