Job Description
Development Representative – South Dakota
AsOne Ministries | Sioux Falls, SD (serving Sioux Falls, Brookings & Mitchell) | Full-time | $50,000–$70,000 + benefits
About AsOne
AsOne Ministries is a Christ-centered organization built on a simple conviction: Ugandans can lead lasting transformation in their own communities. Through locally led schools, health centers, agriculture programs, and businesses in rural Uganda, we integrate faith, philanthropic investment, and financial sustainability to serve communities for generations. Our motto: Ugandans Empowering Ugandans.
The Role
We’re looking for a Development Representative to build and deepen AsOne’s relationships across eastern South Dakota. You’ll identify prospective donors, manage a portfolio of supporters, make clear invitations to give, and help people see the difference their generosity makes.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role for someone who takes initiative and wants responsibility for meaningful results. You might be a few years into a career in sales, ministry, or community work — or returning to the workforce with strong relationships and valuable experience from family, ministry, and community life.
What You’ll Do
- Build and manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors, with a clear engagement and giving plan for each
- Schedule and complete at least 12 donor meetings per month across the Sioux Falls, Brookings, and Mitchell areas
- Prepare personalized proposals, make clear financial requests, and follow through to secure gifts
- Grow the donor base through personal networking, community involvement, and referrals
- Host small gatherings and donor events that lead to deeper involvement
- Provide thoughtful, personal stewardship: timely thanks, meaningful updates, consistent follow-up
- Recruit and shepherd participants for AsOne Trips to Uganda — from invitation through logistics, pre-trip preparation, and post-trip follow-up
- Represent Ugandan leaders and communities with dignity, highlighting their initiative and ownership
Who You Are
- A personal Christian faith and alignment with AsOne’s mission and culture
- About 2–3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, communications, ministry, or community engagement — direct fundraising experience is helpful but not required
- Warm and approachable, with genuine curiosity about people
- Willing to make the call, ask for the meeting, and extend the invitation to give — and resilient when the answer isn’t an immediate yes
- Strong written communication, organization, and follow-through
- Able to work independently, receive coaching, and stay accountable to measurable goals
- Available for regional travel, occasional evening or weekend donor engagements, and travel to Uganda
Applicants returning to the workforce are encouraged to apply.
What We Offer
- Annual salary of $50,000–$70,000, based on experience
- Flexible time off, a health stipend, and SEP IRA contribution
- Growth into greater responsibility as your results and the organization grow
- A Christ-centered team committed to prayer, service, accountability, and lasting impact
