Reports To: Dialysis Director

Status: 60-72 hours per two week pay period

Shift: 5:00 am – 4:30 pm 

Job Schedule: Full time

Weekly Hours: 30-36 hours

Statement of Purpose

The Dialysis patient care technician or technician-in training provides assigned patient care activities under the direct supervision of nurses and physicians.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent work experience, including ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
  • Current certification as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) granted b y the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission; OR Current certification as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) granted by the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing and Technology; OR Current certification as a Clinical Nephrology Technologist (CCNT) granted by the National Nephrology Certification Organization.  If not certified, (on-site) training and certification must be certification must be complete within 18 months of date of hire.  

Working Conditions

  • Requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling, talking, hearing and light (exerting/lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly) to heavy lifting (exerting/lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently or up to 20 pounds constantly) of clients and equipment.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change) and to atmospheric conditions (one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation).
  • Risks exposure to communicable or infectious disease.
