POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Behavioral Health Outpatient Operations provides essential leadership in managing overall operations of outpatient services. This role involves supervising the front desk, behavioral health and admissions staff, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to program standards. This role oversees the coordination of referrals and admissions to substance use, requiring effective management and organization.
The Director of Behavioral Health Outpatient Operations contributes to the development and refinement of program data collection and outcome evaluation, ensuring that all processes align with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with the program leadership team, they work to enhance internal control structures and implement improvement strategies that support program effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
Program
- Manage outpatient behavioral health finances, monitoring productivity, leading staff, and ensuring stability.
- Coordinate verification of funding and insurance coverage for participants.
- Ensure completion of all required pre-admission and admission documents.
- Work cooperatively with local, state, and federal resources to establish, maintain, and enhance program utilization, referral and networking to meet needs of clients
- Work closely with those providing clinical supervision to ensure staff are providing quality clinical services.
- Analyze processes and procedures within Behavioral Health programs to ensure compliance with COA standards, federal and state regulations and make recommendations for change.
- In collaboration with the Managing Director, modify and implement processes, practices and documents to ensure compliance with COA standards and federal and state regulations; to include assisting in the development and monitoring of an electronic health record.
- Provide data to Managing Director regarding program operations and related standards and regulations.
- Coordination and planning of all outpatient groups.
- Assist with revision and implementation of company policies and procedures applicable to Behavioral Health programs.
- Manage and drive clinical staff productivity and performance outcomes.
- With leadership team and supervisors, monitor employee training requirements and coordinate training schedule with Director of Training & Compliance as needed.
- Report compliance concerns to Director of Training & Compliance and Managing Director for follow up.
Responsible for other duties as assigned, due to expansion, modification, or reduction of agency services or catchment area.
POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health or Human Services field required, advanced degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five years of program administration experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience and working knowledge of clients with mental health and/or substance abuse issues, clinical operations, customer service and licensing and accreditation compliance.
Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Other Requirements: Must pass all applicable background checks.
