Call to Freedom is committed to identifying and responding to the needs of individuals at risk of human trafficking and sexual exploitation and those working to transition out of human trafficking. The purpose of the Director of Community Engagement is to support the efforts of Call to Freedom by engaging community awareness and partnerships, coordinating community training and informational events, and overseeing the volunteer department and volunteer events.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in community engagement, nonprofit management, community resource management, volunteer management, or related field.
5+ years of related experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES:
- Assist the Senior Director of Operations to establish connections in South Dakota and surrounding regions for volunteer recruitment/engagement.
- Coordinate outreaches to churches and community groups to recruit volunteers.
- Work with Senior Director of Operations to designate volunteer committees to cultivate and solicit potential donors.
- Reach out to local businesses and churches to conduct Lunch and Learn events.
- Work with Senior Director of Operations to facilitate community speaking engagements for the development team.
- With oversight from the Senior Director of Operations to help coordinate community driven events including but not limited to Community Breakfast, quarterly informational luncheons, Adopt-A-Family, and additional promotional events for CTF.
- Be the main contact between CTF staff and volunteers.
- Oversee the volunteer recruitment, orientation, and placement of volunteers while utilizing staff input and direction of their needs.
- Vet and place volunteers according to agency needs.
- Oversee management of volunteer hours and in-kind donations for grant reporting with Director of Impact & Program Relations. The process could include, but not limited to, training and working with all CTF locations to better track and implement reporting for grant match.
- Work with volunteers to sort, itemize, and organize donated items.
- Coordinate with Development team to attend community events.
- Develop and implement strategic approach to cultivating volunteers with the goal of deepening engagement and transitioning them into long-term donors.
- Design and execute marketing strategies aimed at converting donors into long-term supporters and advocates of the agency’s mission.
- Coordinate internal logistics with CTF volunteers for fundraising events.
- Coordinate tasks for the office and outreach volunteers and track volunteer hours.
- Maintain documentation and records as appropriate.
- Under the direction of Senior Director of Operations, work with CTF team to meet program and client needs as they develop.
- Attend DOVIA and Helpline member meetings and events.
- Work with Senior Director of Operations to create new opportunities to improve donor/volunteer management and engagement systems, processes, and strategies.
- Attend staff meetings, luncheons, and other outreach events.
- Other duties as assigned.
