REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
Experience: 1 year of marketing, business or related field is preferred.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for overall marketing plans for the full continuum campus, lead contact for Bethesda Foundation, leads the day-to-day operations of Parkside Retirement Community. This includes full profit and loss responsibility and occupancy of Parkside. The Director plans, implements, and evaluates all aspects of Parkside operations. The Director complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, and focuses on creating a safe working and living environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assume responsibility to plan, implement, evaluate, and lead the day-to-day operations of Parkside Retirement Community.
Recruit and train team members as needed.
Directly supervise team members to create and maintain a highly functioning team environment and a quality-oriented workforce.
Maintain high customer satisfaction as well as high apartment occupancy.
Perform administrative duties such as writing, keyboarding, completing forms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc.
Make observations and document alterations in resident health status based on ongoing assessment.
Collaborate with the Nurse Navigator and other departments to identify tenants in need of increased level of care.
Make periodic checks to evaluate the resident’s physical and emotional status.
Make recommendations of apartment maintenance needs and upkeep. Report maintenance problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure that an adequate supply of stock and equipment is on hand for day-to-day operations. Report supply shortage, as necessary.
Communicate with employees, providing clear, concise information as well as specific assignments.
Support, promote, and protect tenant rights.
Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
Maintain a quality working relationship with the medical profession, healthcare agencies, and other related facilities, organizations, and groups involved with the aging community.
Communicate facility established policies; ensure department personnel, tenants, and visitors follow the established policies.
Assume marketing of all Bethesda programs and facilities.
Manage the Bethesda website.
Make social media and marketing recommendations.
Write and publish a Bethesda newsletter, maintain list of recipients.
Recommend and assist to promote fundraising efforts through the Aberdeen Bethesda Foundation. Track donations, send acknowledgements and necessary tax correspondence to donors.
Schedule and direct Aberdeen Bethesda Foundation board meetings, as requested.

Assure that established infection control practices are maintained at all times.
Follow established department and facility policies and procedures.
Complete proper reports and forms when required as established by department and facility policies and procedures and/or as requested.
Report all accidents/incidents.
Handle unanticipated events in a professional and calm manner.
Must be able to deal tactfully with co-workers, tenants, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the public.
Must represent facility in a calm and pleasant manner.
Attend and participate in in-service educational classes, departmental meetings, staff meetings, and committee meetings. Maintain professional competence through participation in programs of training.
Maintain the confidentiality of tenant and co-worker/employee information.
Honor tenant personal and property rights.
