Position Supervises: New Start Residential Supervisor

Work Schedule: Position requires flexible hours and rotation on an on-call schedule

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Residential Services at our inpatient addiction recovery facility for pregnant and parenting women plays a pivotal role in leading, implementing, and managing a quality residential treatment program for this unique population. This position involves actively participating in the interviewing, hiring, supervision, training, and evaluation of staff to ensure the highest standards of care. Working closely with the residential supervisor, the Director of Residential Services ensures the facility is staffed 24 hours a day, providing ongoing support to residential staff to maintain a supportive and efficient environment.

Collaboration with the managing director is essential for communicating program priorities and status, ensuring the program aligns with the organization's mission and goals. The Director of Residential Services guides program decisions by adhering to VOA’s Cultural Code and values, fostering positive relationships with staff, clients, and stakeholders. The role requires a deep commitment to creating a compassionate, supportive, and empowering environment that facilitates the transformation and recovery of the individuals we serve. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)

Staff

A. Ensure program specific orientation and training for new staff and ongoing training for all New Start staff.

B. Facilitate a weekly team meeting with the New Start Residential Treatment Technicians, as well as a weekly meeting with the New Start grant and clinical staff.

C. Participate in on-call rotation as needed.

D. Monitor staff performance and training requirements by providing regular feedback and individual meetings with staff, including formal annual evaluations.

Client Services

A. Provide direction for staff in the implementation of client services.

B. Attend to and ensure that client medical needs are met, maintaining consistent communication with the program nurse educator.

C. Receive and manage record requests, communicating with clinical and HR staff for legal guidance.

Program Management

A. Ensure that all program areas are in compliance with state licensing requirements, health and safety requirements.

B. Assist in the development and review and updating of program materials as needed including handbooks, marketing materials, etc.

C. Manage, monitor and submit statistical information as requested by administration and funding sources.

D. Utilize electronic system for client records and ensure effective processes for maintaining documentation.

Facility

A. Ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance of residential facility.

B. Ensure safe working conditions of equipment.

C. Ensure compliance with health, fire and safety codes.

D. Ensure communication of facility needs to appropriate administrative staff.

Carryout other duties as requested, which may be due to program modification or expansion.

POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Degree in related Health or Human Services field (ex: psychology, social work, addiction studies, etc.) and a minimum of five years of residential program management experience, or an equivalent combination

Experience: Experience and working knowledge of clients with mental health and/or chemical dependency challenges; experience in pregnancy, post-delivery, infant care, and child development

Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance perspectives. Able to remain calm in escalated situations. Effective communication, appropriate boundaries, flexibility and willingness to learn are essential.

Certifications & Licenses: CAC or LAC preferred.

Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance due to client transportation needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

A. Ability to Stand, Walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend on a daily basis

B. Capability to Lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 lbs on a daily basis
