Job Description
Job Title: Dishwasher
Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Compensation Type: Hourly $14
Summary of Position: Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using a dishwasher or by hand.
- Keep dishwasher, and sinks, clean and immediately report any functional or mechanical problems to the Kitchen Manager.
- Monitor dishwasher water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
- Place clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in proper areas.
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
- Bag and Haul dish room trash to designated areas.
- Keep dish room clean and organized.
- Handle table ware carefully to prevent breakage.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required
- Keep garbage cans cleaned.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- No previous restaurant experience required
- Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
- Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
- Be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighting up to 60 pounds.
