SUMMARY: The district manager works directly with store managers to maintain operational excellence within each store. He/she ensures that the mission, principles, and Scooter's Coffee touchstones are carried out, embraced, and modeled by all employees. This is accomplished through regular site visits and frequent communication. This role builds and leads a friendly, service-oriented store manager team, sets a high-energy workplace, drives sales, increases profits, and demonstrates an engaged management style. The district manager exemplifies Scooter’s Coffee core values. The district manager may work up to 40-50 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Staff Management
  • Oversee and guide staffing for each store
  • Work with managers to schedule efficiently
  • Ensure stores are trained for success in all day parts
  • Identify and develop leaders and create a “bench” for succession
  • Responds to managers questions in a timely manner
  • Maintains positive employee morale
  • Ensures employees comply with health and food safety standards and regulations
  • Set goals for managers and their teams

  • Recipe consistency
  • Identify and resolve equipment repairs and general machine maintenance
  • Hold managers accountable for managing inventory correctly
  • Investigates and resolves complaints regarding food quality or service

  • Other Functions:
  • Run errands
  • Attend meetings
  • Perform other functions as directed
  • Barista weekly to maintain proficient barista skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education and Work Experience
  • High school diploma; associate’s degree in management or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of customer service experience required
  • 2+ years of experience managing staff required
  • Must have a current driver’s license

  • Must be able to deal professionally and tactfully with customers and staff at all times

  • Must have the ability to obtain an extensive knowledge of product and preparation
  • Must have basic knowledge of Excel (or similar spreadsheet software
  • Physical Capabilities Required
  • Most physical exertion is in the ‘low’ range, requiring exertion of less than 5 pounds of force fairly regularly; however, may occasionally require exertion of up to 25 pounds.
  • Job includes major amounts of reaching, standing, walking, talking and hearing
  • Must have a sufficient visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned to employees, and to make general inspections of the work area
  • Environmental conditions include a mild to moderate noise level
