Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on District Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight for our Pierre and Mobridge convenience store locations, with the potential to assume responsibility for additional locations in the future.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys developing people, solving problems, improving business performance, and being actively involved in day-to-day operations. We are looking for someone who will be present in our stores, build strong relationships with our management teams, and take ownership of results.
As District Manager, you will work directly with Store Managers and company leadership to ensure our locations are well staffed, efficiently operated, customer focused, and financially successful.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to Store Managers and their teams
- Recruit, interview, hire, and help develop strong employees and managers
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and assist stores with ongoing recruiting needs
- Regularly visit assigned locations and maintain a strong in-store presence
- Review employee scheduling, labor costs, and overtime
- Monitor sales, gross profit, expenses, inventory, and overall store performance
- Work with company leadership to identify opportunities to improve profitability
- Develop and implement action plans when stores are not meeting expectations
- Monitor inventory controls, shortages, shrink, and cash-handling procedures
- Ensure company policies and operating procedures are consistently followed
- Oversee customer service, merchandising, cleanliness, food-service operations, and overall store standards
- Assist Store Managers with employee relations, performance management, and difficult personnel situations
- Ensure required reports, inventory counts, and operational paperwork are completed accurately and timely
- Assist with vendor, maintenance, and equipment issues when necessary
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve the customer experience
- Follow through on identified issues to ensure problems are resolved rather than simply reported
