Job Description
Pit Stop Stores is seeking an experienced, hands-on District Manager to help lead and support our convenience store operations in the Pierre, South Dakota area.
This position involves overseeing multiple store locations, working closely with Store Managers, and traveling between stores to provide leadership, operational support, and accountability.
We're looking for a motivated leader who enjoys developing employees, improving business performance, and taking an active role in daily store operations. Our ideal candidate understands that successful district management means being present in the stores, building strong teams, and taking ownership of results.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary: $50,000–$70,000, based on experience and qualifications

What You'll Do
- Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing support to Store Managers and their teams
- Travel between store locations regularly to evaluate operations, support employees, and maintain consistent standards
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and employee development
- Help maintain appropriate staffing levels and oversee employee scheduling and labor costs
- Monitor store sales, profitability, expenses, inventory, and overall financial performance
- Work with company leadership to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
- Develop and implement action plans to address operational challenges
- Monitor inventory controls, cash handling, shortages, and shrink
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and operating standards are consistently followed
- Oversee customer service, merchandising, cleanliness, and food-service operations
- Support Store Managers with employee relations and performance management
- Ensure required reports, inventory counts, and operational documentation are completed accurately
- Assist with vendor, maintenance, and equipment-related issues as needed
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve the customer experience
- Follow through on operational concerns to ensure lasting solutions
What We're Looking For
- Experience in retail management, convenience store operations, or a related leadership role
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable
- Understanding of store operations, inventory management, staffing, and financial performance
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to take a hands-on approach to supporting store teams
- Ability to travel regularly between Pit Stop Stores locations as part of the position
