Job: Drafter
Classification: Non-exempt
Schedule: 10-hour shift, Monday – Thursday. Overtime as assigned. Competitive wage and benefits plus a $1000 sign on bonus.
Job summary: A drafters job is to translate designs from architects and engineers into technical drawings and plans using computer aided design (CAD) and Solid works software.
Responsibilities: Drafters use (CAD) and Solid works software to generate precise drawings based on design specifications. Works closely with engineers to incorporate design changes and ensure accuracy. Must adhere to technical specifications, calculate dimensions, weights and material requirements for accurate manufacturing. Maintains all records of drawings, revisions and related documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills: Strong understanding of CAD and Solid works software, drawing specifications, and technical specifications. Accuracy is crucial in creating precise and complaint drawings. Ability to interpret design specifications, identify potential issues, and propose solutions. Effective communication is necessary.
Physical requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at times.
