South Dakota Department of Public Safety has a great opportunity for a highly motivated, professional to work within the Office of Homeland Security. This position will provide security improvement, customer service and technical assistance to state, county, tribal and private entities as well as maintain and update critical infrastructure data base and criminal justice information systems. This includes assisting and managing all aspects of federal grants which includes providing technical assistance to grantees, reviewing grant applications, verifying that work done is in compliance with federal guidelines and authorizing payment of claims for reimbursement. As well as assisting in all aspects of maintaining and accessing criminal justice information systems to include but not limited to; reviewing certifications, provide training, audit record access and ensure federal/state policies are being adhered to. This position will also provide specialized training to school personnel and provide physical assessments of critical facilities. - strong relationship building skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and customers;
- demonstrated teamwork and organizational skills;
- maintain a high standard of ethical decision making;
- work independently without direct supervision;
- provide technical support surrounding the criminal justice data sharing systems;
- planning, organizing and prioritizing work assignments;
- handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions;
- provide effective project management;
- understand complex processes and apply processes to business operations in a vast array of DPS disciplines;
- database development and maintenance.
