We are seeking an
Office Assistant (official title: Employment Service Assistant) to perform a combination of clerical and professional duties associated with the local office including greeting and checking in customers, scheduling appointments, monitoring and assisting customers in the resource area, contacting program participants for follow-up information, and performing clerical duties to maintain efficient office operations. Individuals are also responsible for program support and clerical duties and may perform some duties normally associated with Employment Specialists.

This is a full-time, onsite, 40 hours/week position with the Department Labor & Regulation in a typical office environment (may conduct some duties outside to attend meetings with partnering agencies). The selected candidate will be expected to work in the office, as scheduled, between 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday. The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- An associate's degree (or higher) in related coursework is preferred.
- It is very important for candidates to be able to use a personal computer, have specific knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and have the ability to work with various software programs.
Knowledge of:- information gathering techniques;
- principles of human behavior and motivation;
- employment programs and support service agencies within the community.
Skill to: - effectively work with customers and provide excellent customer service;
- build and maintain effective working relationships with employers and job seekers who enter the office;
- navigate various computer programs and numerous employer websites;
- troubleshoot common computer issues for customers.
Ability to:- communicate information clearly;
- organize and coordinate activities;
- evaluate information for accuracy and completeness;
- maintain self-control in stressful situations;
- provide exceptional customer service;
- operate a variety of office equipment;
- follow employment program rules and policies.
