Are you a college student looking to gain real-world engineering experience in a manufacturing environment?
Join ESI as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern and work alongside our Manufacturing, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team supporting the production of electronic assemblies and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a hands-on, on-site role where you’ll gain exposure to production processes, troubleshooting, and problem-solving engineering while working directly with engineers and production teams on the floor.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with production troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Support manufacturing equipment setup, validation, and process improvements
- Help investigate process or quality issues impacting production
- Assist with tooling or fixture improvements for safety, quality, or efficiency
- Review defect trends and support improvement initiatives
- Assist with engineering documentation updates and process changes
- Support engineering trials and data collection for decision-making
- Work cross-functionally with production, quality, and operations teams
- Spend time on the production floor learning workflows and supporting real-time needs

- Current college student pursuing a degree in:
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Or related field
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Interest in manufacturing, production, and process improvement
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable working both in an office and on a production floor

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role will work in both:
- Office settings
- Production/manufacturing floor environments
Must be able to:
- Walk the production floor regularly
- Occasionally lift or move light materials or tools
- Work safely around manufacturing equipment and processes
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
