This position plays a key role in driving forward that mission.

The Executive Assistant is a vital part of the Secretariat team and is responsible for multiple administrative duties, including maintaining the Secretary of Education's schedule and coordinating meetings with senior staff; managing correspondence; preparing financial forms; coordinating travel and lodging arrangements; processing reimbursement requests; tracking and maintaining files; and is the primary contact for building maintenance. This role also supports the Board of Education Standards and the Teacher Compensation Review Board by arranging meeting logistics, broadcast support, posting documents, and taking minutes. Finally, this role is a part of the department administrative assistant team and as such fills in for and supports other administrative assistant roles when needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • successful experience performing similar duties;
  • familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • experience in state government is preferred but not required.
