TITLE: Executive Director - Moody County Club

REPORTS TO: Chief Program Officer 

CLASSIFIED: Full Time, Exempt 

MISSION: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.  

JOB SUMMARY: The Executive Director oversees and manages day-to-day operations, local public relations, and crisis management of the sites, including all Units, extensions, and community impact sites. They will serve as the face of the Clubs in that community. They will also be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the 5 key elements of positive youth development in their daily interactions with youth and their employees. They are responsible for overseeing and complying with Club policies, programming, safety, and culture. As assigned, the Executive Director will engage with Club parents and staff daily and administrative team administrative duties on youth behaviors, Club events, etc. All Boys & Girls Club employees will be expected to uphold the mission of the Club. 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Crisis Management of the facility, youth situations, and Club management 
  • Management of multiple Units, Extensions, and Community Impact Sites on a day-to-day basis 
  • Establish relationships with school counselors and principals. 
  • Public relations in the community on the radio, television, print, tours, and with public entities 
  • The administrative team may typically perform unplanned and unexpected projects or responsibilities that arise
  • Ensure Unit staff implement the 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development. 
  • Exhibit the Club Values of excellence, impact-driven, teamwork, and good character. 
  • Facilitate and attend Club training, including the monthly all-staff meetings. 
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and disciplining Club employees as assigned and monitoring the process for all programs 
  • Supervise assigned employees, which includes writing 60-day reviews and performance plans, and holding weekly and bi-weekly one-on-one meetings, as well as ensuring the unit and extension teams are getting completed 
  • Ensure that all weekly or bi-weekly meetings for Unit staff occur. 
  • Responsible for results and execution of special events at the Clubs. 
  • Be informed and participate in all the club's significant discipline and guidance challenges. 
  • Ensure the behavior policy, special needs, safety, and youth success plans are created and implemented.
  • Build relationships with parents of the organization through parent orientation, phone calls, e-mails, daily communication, etc.  
  • Complete the annual Boys & Girls Club of America Impact and Safety Assessments.  
  • Provide grant administration by ensuring all grant programs meet grant requirements and reporting deadlines. 
  • Ensure accuracy of tracking all duplicated and unduplicated youth participation in academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. 
  • Oversee the recruitment and marketing efforts for the Unit. 
  • On snow days and unexpected full days, covering all shifts to ensure the Club can open. 
  • Regularly evaluate programs to ensure they are meeting the needs of their members and making necessary improvements. Issues and/or concerns should be reported and addressed immediately.
  • Responsible for program updates in newsletters, publications, etc. 
  • Responsible for working in collaboration with other community groups to enhance services. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Administrative:

  • Attend all monthly all-staff meetings, as well as weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor and weekly Coordinator meetings. Responsible for biweekly team meetings and one-on-one meetings with my direct report staff. Ensure every staff member receives a weekly or biweekly one-on-one meeting, and proper documentation is taking place.
  • Responsible for the hiring process, supervision, and evaluation of all direct report staff. Create and implement 60-day reviews, performance plans, and quarterly reviews to evaluate their performance regularly.
  • Responsible for generating reports, reviewing data entries, and comprehending the membership management system.
  • Responsible for budget tracking in all priority outcomes. 
  • Ensure accurate tracking of youth participation in academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles for the Unit.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University, preferred degree in Human Development, Education, or similar
  • Experience working with youth ages Preschool through 12th Grade
  • Management/Supervisory Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understand, implement, and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, per Club training and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety. 
  • Provide guidance and feedback to your assigned employees. Ensure unit staff understand and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment methods, in line with the Club's training and values. Values include fostering fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities, expectations, and safety.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, parents etc., at the Club to ensure the safety of the space.
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods throughout a shift
  • Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
