Executive Officer
Aberdeen Area Association of REALTORS® & Aberdeen Multiple Listing Service
Location: Aberdeen, SD
Salary: $42,000 – $50,000 (DOE)
Schedule: Full-time | Monday – Friday
The Aberdeen Area Association of REALTORS® and Aberdeen Multiple Listing Service (MLS) is seeking a knowledgeable, service-oriented Executive Officer to manage and oversee the daily operations of both organizations. This leadership role is essential to delivering a high standard of service to REALTOR® members while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the Multiple Listing Service.
The Executive Officer serves as the chief staff executive and works closely with Board leadership, committees, technology partners, affiliates, the South Dakota REALTORS® Association, and local members to support organizational effectiveness and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Association and MLS in accordance with Board policies and strategic direction
- Support Board leadership and committees through planning, coordination, and implementation of initiatives
- Ensure MLS data accuracy, compliance, rule enforcement, and system integrity
- Serve as primary liaison with MLS technology vendors and external partners
- Provide timely, professional, and member-focused service to REALTOR® members
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and fiscal management for both organizations
- Coordinate meetings, education programs, and member communications
- Maintain strong working relationships with the South Dakota REALTORS® Association and affiliated organizations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field (preferred)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and service orientation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite-specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher, QuickBooks and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of REALTOR® associations and MLS operations is a plus!
Candidate cannot be an active South Dakota real estate licensee.
Travel:
- The successful candidate will be expected to attend three state quarterly meetings in Pierre (S.D) as well as a yearly Leadership Conference and State Convention.
- There will also be additional opportunities to attend National Association of Realtor conferences.
The successful candidate is also expected to attend the general, executive board and MLS meetings once a month in Aberdeen.
