Commercial Carpenter

Van Buskirk Companies is seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our Construction team in Sioux Falls, SD.
We are looking for a skilled carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys working on a team, and has experience in commercial construction. Our projects include retail spaces, financial institutions, medical and dental offices, restaurants, tenant improvements, daycare facilities, office buildings, and other commercial construction projects throughout the region.
What You’ll Do:
- Interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
- Plan and organize daily work activities.
- Perform rough and finish carpentry on commercial construction projects.
- Install doors, frames, hardware, casework, trim, blocking, and other finish carpentry components.
- Assist with framing, demolition, project preparation, and jobsite organization.
- Identify and help resolve construction issues in the field.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Take pride in producing quality work that meets company and customer expectations.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction experience preferred.
- Experience with rough and finish commercial carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and safety practices.
- Basic understanding of construction mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and skid steers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
