Job/Program DescriptionEducation Assistants will provide support for students with special needs under the direction of special education case managers in order for students to achieve their goals established for Extended School Year (ESY) services. Education Assistants will also support students with activities of daily living (e.g., bathroom, accessing the playground, moving around the building) as needed. ESY services may look different for every child. ESY services are designed to maintain skills already acquired, not to learn new skills, and all specialized instruction and related services will reflect the unique instructional needs of each child.
RequirementsMust meet the requirements of two years post high school education or higher, 48 credits, CDA, or be able to pass a standardized test approved by the state of South Dakota.
Extended School Year ScheduleExtended school year is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:00am to 11:30am.
Dates: June 11th through July 18th -
no school the week of July 4th.
Salary Schedule2023-2024 Classified Staff Salary Schedule - Level G, starting at $17.27/hour
Pay DayLast working day of each month, in accordance with the payroll cutoff schedule.
