Job Description
Facilities Maintenance
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, physical systems and equipment diagnosing problems discuss a repair plan and execute the plan safely and effectively.
- Repair, patch, paint walls, ceilings, and floors of the building.
- Grounds maintenance of the courthouse.
- Communicate with appropriate officials to develop solutions to facilities related issues.
- Plan time effectively to ensure that engineering tasks are completed efficiently. Complete required follow-up for tasks such as the maintenance request forms and or computer data entry.
- Snow/ice removal and grounds maintenance that may be extend beyond normal schedule.
- Maintain county vehicles and storage facilities.
Other:
- Attending training sessions and meetings, as necessary.
- Perform work in a manner consistent with safe practices.
- Develop and maintain a positive, impartial professional relationship with the general public and other employees. Develop and maintain a positive cooperative working relationship with other County departments.
- Perform other such duties and functions as assigned and necessary to the proper performance of the position.
General Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D Certification.
- Multitask and be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Have basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and able to successfully complete pre-employment background process.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with other employees, government agencies, and the general public.
Facilities Management Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in facilities maintenance, electrical, mechanical, construction, HVAC, or construction or formal education in related field preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- Able to read and follow blueprints and technical instructions.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Familiar with PPE and know how and when to use it.
