Join Our Team as a Facilities Manager!
Direct Companies is seeking a dependable and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, functionality, and operational efficiency of our facilities. In this role, you’ll lead facility operations across multiple areas including maintenance coordination, vendor management, workplace safety, budgeting, space planning, and sustainability initiatives.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained while supporting employees, visitors, and operational teams. This position combines hands-on facility oversight with strategic planning and operational leadership to help create productive and reliable work environments across Direct Companies.

Key Responsibilities
Facilities Maintenance & Operations
- Ensure all company facilities remain clean, functional, safe, and properly maintained
- Oversee routine maintenance and repair activities for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, equipment, and building systems
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and facility inspections
- Respond to facility-related issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain facility records, maintenance logs, and operational documentation
- Ensure facilities meet operational standards and support business needs
Vendor Management & Procurement
- Source, evaluate, and manage third-party vendors and service providers
- Coordinate services including cleaning, repairs, utilities, landscaping, waste management, and security
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements
- Monitor vendor performance and service quality
- Manage procurement of facility supplies, tools, and operational resources
- Maintain cost-effective purchasing practices while meeting operational requirements
Budgeting & Cost Management
- Assist in developing and managing facility operating budgets
- Track expenses and monitor spending against budget goals
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety
- Support forecasting and long-term facility planning initiatives
- Monitor utility costs and operational expenditures
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental, and building regulations
- Support emergency preparedness and facility safety programs
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
- Coordinate corrective actions for identified safety concerns
- Maintain facility security procedures including access control and visitor management
- Partner with leadership to promote a safe and compliant work environment
Space Planning & Facility Improvements
- Support office and workspace planning initiatives
- Coordinate facility renovations, relocations, and improvement projects
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify facility and space needs
- Help optimize facility layouts for operational efficiency and employee productivity
- Oversee project timelines and vendor coordination for facility-related improvements
Sustainability & Energy Management
- Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
- Monitor utility usage and identify opportunities to reduce consumption and operating costs
- Assist with waste reduction, recycling, and environmental improvement programs
- Recommend and implement energy-efficient systems and operational practices
Qualifications
- Understanding of facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
- Ability to manage vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and compliance requirements
- Experience managing budgets, expenses, and procurement processes
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management software/tools preferred
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on facility responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Facilities management certification (CFM, FMP, or equivalent) preferred
- Experience supporting multiple facilities or locations
- Knowledge of energy management or sustainability practices
- Project management experience is a plus
