Job Description
Bender Midwest Properties is looking to add an experienced Facility Maintenance Technician to our team. As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will handle the day-to-day requests and needs at a large commercial facility. This includes requests from tenants, building vendors and contractors including HVAC, electrical, and plumping requests.
DUTIES:
- Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other maintenance related tasks
- Building and grounds maintenance to include snow removal, signage, and landscaping
- Manages and reviews vendor service contracts
- Checks completed work by vendors and contractors to ensure it is completed to satisfaction
- Create and maintain schedule for changes in outside/inside environment and time changes
- Accurately track and schedule contractors to perform general maintenance and repairs and maintain records of service
- Operates and maintains company vehicle in serviceable condition
- Maintain roof top units, HVAC, VAV boxes, fire alarm panels, mechanical system, plumbing fixtures, and generator
- Monitor systems to control and manipulate equipment and systems to function properly, ascertain problems and initiate solutions when equipment is running incorrectly
- Responsible for facility and safety rules including fire alarms, evacuations, and emergency preparedness
- Ensure proper storage and use of maintenance tools and equipment
- Conduct and document regular facility inspections for safety and soundness
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, snowplow/sander, parking lot sweeper, and skid loader
- Comprehend and follow diagrams, blueprints, plans and specifications
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow proper procedures
- Must have knowledge and adhere to all safety rules, procedures and regulations for products and equipment required of this position
- Ability to plan and organize work tasks and implement projects
- Strong technical understanding of applications associated with assigned trade areas
- Take initiative, provide follow-up, and complete projects
- Ability to lift, move and manipulate up to 50 lbs.
- No aversion to heights
- Background check required
This position is full-time, 40-hour work week with some overtime opportunities.
