Job Description
Alliance Construction is hiring an experienced Field Service Mechanic to support our earthwork and demolition operations. This role is intended for a mechanic who can handle complex repairs, work independently in the field, and take ownership of keeping equipment running with minimal downtime. Assistance with on-road equipment is included as needed.
What the Job Looks Like
- Field maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, and support equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain issues with minimal oversight
- Perform inspections, servicing, and breakdown repairs directly on jobsites
- Assist with repairs on on-road equipment such as side dumps, end dumps, and related equipment as needed
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs on equipment, attachments, and components as required
- Service and repair demolition attachments (hammers, shears, grapples, buckets) when required
- Complete repairs in the field safely and efficiently to minimize downtime
- Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term corrective solutions
- Manage work independently from start to finish
- Position is Monday through Friday; overtime as workload requires
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience working on heavy equipment
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient welding and fabrication skills
- Comfortable being the primary mechanic in the field
- Own personal mechanic tools
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL preferred
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position
- Safety-minded, dependable, and detail-oriented
