POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst Intern will support the financial and operational performance of a diverse real estate portfolio, which may include multifamily, commercial, hospitality, and other investment assets. This internship is designed for a student who is eager to gain real-world experience in finance, real estate, and investment analysis while contributing to meaningful, hands-on projects.

The role provides exposure to financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, market research, and investment decision-making. Interns will work closely with cross-functional teams and leadership, gaining insight into how financial analysis drives strategic decisions across a real estate investment platform.

This is a highly collaborative, learning-focused role where curiosity, initiative, and attention to detail are key.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Support financial analysis, data collection, and cost modeling to assist decision-making across assets and projects.

· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

· Help prepare financial reports, presentations, and internal/external investment materials.

· Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

· Analyze key drivers of asset and portfolio performance.

· Collaborate with property management and operations teams to understand operational and financial performance.

· Assist with financial modeling and due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing activities.

· Support the ongoing organization and maintenance of financial data across departments.

· Contribute to special projects supporting asset management and investment initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervisory responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Strong interest in finance, real estate, investments, or asset management.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to dig into data and ask questions.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to financial modeling is a plus.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

· Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and eagerness to learn through hands-on work.

· Professionalism and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Real Estate, Accounting, or a related field.

· Rising junior, senior, or graduate student preferred.

· Prior internship experience, coursework in finance/accounting, or involvement in related student organizations is a plus but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
