Founded in 2005, Mickelson & Company is a tax-motivated capital advisory firm with a team of 10 professionals based in Sioux Falls, SD. We specialize in the monetization of federal and state tax credits for the railroad and renewable energy industries. We are experiencing exciting growth opportunities and would like to expand our staff of professionals.
Position: Financial Analyst
Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Compensation: $65,000-$100,000 (dependent upon experience)
Responsibilities:
Support administration of federal and state tax credit programs including:
Manage contract administration (update, communicate, circulate, and track process)
Analyze financial data and develop summary documentation and reports
Track activity to identify open items, priorities, timing, and status
Coordinate required documentation with state agencies
Assist with identifying and engaging federal and state tax credit counterparties
Research economic incentives, state tax credit programs, and prospective economic development sites
Evaluate other tax-motivated investments and potential equity participants
Support new federal, state, and renewable energy tax credit program initiatives (material preparation, economic development analysis, and other related tasks)
Conduct return analysis on business investments
Communicate clearly and concisely with clients and buyers via email and phone to address inquiries, provide updates and maintain strong, ongoing relationships
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Required skills:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Capability to acquire basic knowledge of Federal and State statute and regulations
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of the principles, processes, and standards for financial analysis, forecasting and reporting
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience preferred, with a background in financial analysis, investments, banking, loan processing, or other financial services
