We are seeking a motivated and dependable Fire Sprinkler Designer / Project Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for managing fire sprinkler installation projects from initial project handoff through final completion. This position combines fire sprinkler system design, project coordination, material procurement, scheduling, permitting, field support, customer communication, and project closeout.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems, NFPA requirements, construction drawings, hydraulic calculations, project scheduling, and the coordination required between the office, field installation crews, general contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and customers.

This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design fire sprinkler systems and prepare shop drawings and hydraulic calculations
  • Review architectural and construction plans for sprinkler system requirements and trade conflicts
  • Prepare material takeoffs and coordinate material ordering
  • Submit plans and documents for permits and AHJ approval
  • Coordinate project schedules, materials, installation crews, inspections, and testing
  • Ability to read fire sprinkler protection design drawings
  • Review project progress and address scheduling, material, and design issues
  • Coordinate final inspections, testing, punch lists, and project closeout
  • Maintain accurate project records, revisions, and as-built drawings
  • Ensure work complies with applicable NFPA standards, codes, approved plans, and project specification

Job Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Previous experience in fire sprinkler design and/or project management
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and AutoSprink
  • NICET certification in Water-Based Systems is preferred, although not required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus
  • Experience with hydraulic calculation
  • Experience submitting plans to AHJs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an office environment as well as visit active construction sites

  • Ability to walk construction sites and inspect sprinkler installations

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders when necessary

  • Ability to work around construction equipment, noise, dust, and other job-site conditions

  • Occasional travel to project locations may be required

  • Must be able to work additional hours when necessary to meet critical project deadlines
