POSITION SUMMARY
The Body Prepper will prepare the truck for painting by sanding, grinding, waxing, greasing, and applying body fillers. They must inspect the truck for flaws, dents, or imperfections and compare them to the spec book to ensure standards are met. They will be expected to maintain the condition and quality of your tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Compare and review spec books and follow guidelines to best prepare the body.
Be efficient in tools/equipment to sand, grind, and apply body filler to the apparatus to prepare for paint.
Performs both steps of buffing the apparatus to smooth, shine, and polish the body.
Caulk interior departments.
Inspects for flaws, dents, or imperfections on the truck’s body.
Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
K | Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience: High school diploma/GED. Strong mechanical and technical ability required. Associates degree in autobody preferred. 4+ years of experience in autobody preferred. Manufacturing experience preferred.

S | Skills: Language: Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books. Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately. Able to follow written and verbal directions. - Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

A | Abilities: Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed. Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.
