Position: First Assistant - Clubhouse

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The First Assistant - Clubhouse supports the daily operations of the golf pro shop, including merchandizing, tournament operations, junior golf programs, and promotion of the facility. This position requires a high standard of customer service and exemplary guest interaction. Responsibilities include promoting golfing activities, assisting with the junior golf program, and managing food and beverage services.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:
Reports to the Head Golf Professional. May assist in coordinating, instructing, or supervising seasonal personnel as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Assist in the complete operation of the golf Pro Shop.
Provide outstanding customer service and establish excellent guest relations.
Organize and manage golf leagues and assist with all tournament operations.
Register golfers, manage tee time reservations, and ensure timely starts.
Assist with inventory control in the Pro Shop and Bar.
Receive, price, and sell merchandise.
Maintain supplies (scorecards, starting sheets, tees, pencils, etc.).
Keep Golf Shop and Clubhouse clean and presentable.
Address and resolve customer comments or complaints.
Support food and beverage service operations.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Monitor proper use and condition of golf carts after rental.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in the Golf Industry.
Related College/University degree preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
The following items are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the position:
Basic knowledge of the USGA rules, handicap and course rating systems, golf swing mechanics, and golf equipment.
Familiarity with golf course operations, promotion, and marketing.
Basic computer proficiency.
Self-motivated with a strong desire to promote all operations of the facility.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Honest, dependable, responsible, and public service oriented.
Experience with cash register operation and balancing receipts.
Ability to manage golf course activities including tee time reservations, tournament software (e.g., Golf Genius), and Pro Shop services.
Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holiday.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Must obtain Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) certification within 3 months of hire.
Must obtain ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire.
If a PGA Apprentice, must actively pursue PGA membership through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) program in a timely manner.

Motor vehicles, grill, oven, telephone, copier, fax machine, computer (including word processing and databases software), cash register, calculator.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regular use of hands to handle or operate tools and equipment.
Frequent standing, talking, hearing, walking, and reaching.
Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and smelling.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. regularly; occasionally up to 80 lbs.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
