Job Description

Purpose of the Position:

Manage front of house food and beverage operations (Banquets, Lounge and Restaurant), to ensure quality service and standards while delivering a guest experience that is unique.

Duties and Responsibilities

Financial

  • Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labor costs.
  • In partnership with the catering office, identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue. Drive promotions that deliver great experiences for guests at a good value.
  • Ensure all credit and financial transactions are handled in a secure manner.
  • Ability to report on sales tracking, labor, and productivity.
  • Maintian proper inventory levels.
  • Possess strong organizational skills to assist with critical duties of the position such as the creation of work and cleaning schedules, training, inventory, etc.

People:

  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help improve team member performance.
  • Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state and local laws and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained on quality and service standards, has the necessary tools and equipment, and is empowered to carry out job duties. 
  • Ensure all staff members that work with the sale of alcohol are TAM certified.
  • Maintain proper work schedules that comply with service needs while maintaining labor costs.
  • Problem solving skills are critical to this position especially when dealing with employees and customers. Having the ability to come up with a solution quickly to resolve conflict.

Guest Experience:

  • Ensure all food and beverage equipment is in proper operational condition.
  • Ensure all food and beverage and banquet facilities are clean and properly stocked for anticipated business volume.   
  • Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals. Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and / or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

Responsible Business:

  • Assist with food and beverage marketing for the hotel. Monitor local and industry trends.
  • Conduct proper inventory procedures. Determine minimum and maximum inventory levels.
  • Ensure secure and proper storage of products, inventory and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty.
