Job Description

Yankton County Emergency Medical Services is an employee-paid Advanced Life Support ambulance service responding to 911 calls in Yankton County, South Dakota (including the Lewis and Clark Lake area) and South Yankton, Nebraska. We cover a population base of around 25,000 residents with an annual average volume of 2,300 calls for service.

Yankton County EMS is accepting applications for a full-time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). This is a 48-hour per week position, paid hourly with overtime pay after 40 hours. Shifts are currently scheduled as 24 hours on/ 48 hours off with a five-day off stretch every third week.

The ideal candidate will have a current SDBMOE EMT License, a valid driver's license with a good driving record, an ability to work well with others as a team and remain calm in stressful situations, and must be able to lift 100 pounds or more. A thorough pre-employment background check is required.
