Job Description
General Employment Interest – Union Gospel Mission
PLEASE NOTE: This is a general employment interest posting and does not indicate that UGM currently has an open position.
Union Gospel Mission accepts applications on an ongoing basis from individuals who are interested in serving with our ministry. We regularly review submitted applications so that when a position becomes available—whether planned or unexpectedly—we can identify candidates whose experience, availability, and heart for ministry may be a good fit.
If you feel called to serve at UGM, we encourage you to submit your resume and tell us a little about yourself. While submitting an application does not guarantee that a position is currently available or that you will be contacted, it allows us to consider you as future opportunities arise.
Serving at Union Gospel Mission
As followers of Jesus, we are called to love and serve others with humility, compassion, and grace. In our community, there are people facing homelessness, hardship, and hopelessness who need both practical help and the hope found in Christ.
At Union Gospel Mission, we believe in the transformative power of Christ's love, and we seek individuals with a servant's heart—people who feel called to demonstrate that love through their words, actions, and care for others.
As a 24/7 ministry, our work continues every day of the year, including evenings, weekends, Sundays, and holidays. Our mission is to provide not only a safe place for those in need, but also a reflection of Christ's love in every act of kindness, every conversation, and every moment spent serving.
What Serving at UGM Can Look Like
Share Christ's Love Through Service
Your time, presence, and care can reflect the heart of Jesus. Whether providing meals, offering support, helping with shelter needs, or simply sharing a kind word, your service is an opportunity to demonstrate God's love and grace.
Help Meet Practical Needs
Our ministry depends on people willing to serve in many different ways. From supporting daily shelter operations to organizing donations, preparing meals, and assisting guests, each responsibility contributes to meeting real needs in tangible ways.
Be a Source of Hope
UGM is a place of refuge, restoration, and hope. It is a place where people can hear the gospel, experience God's love, and begin taking steps toward a different future. Our staff help create an environment where that transformation can take place.
We believe every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. Serving at UGM provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while growing in faith, humility, love, and compassion.
Important Scheduling Information:
Because UGM operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, many of our positions require availability that may include evenings, weekends, Sundays, and holidays.
Interested in Future Opportunities?
If you feel called to serve through the ministry of Union Gospel Mission, we invite you to submit your resume for consideration.
Please remember: This is not an advertisement for a specific current opening. Applications submitted through this posting will be reviewed periodically and may be considered when a position becomes available that aligns with your experience, qualifications, availability, and our ministry's needs.
Thank you for your interest in serving alongside us and for your willingness to consider using your gifts in ministry.
In Christ's love,
Sarah Brink
