Position Summary

A profitable sub-contractor construction company is seeking a strategic and hands-on General Manager to oversee daily operations, drive organizational alignment, and serve as the critical liaison between executive leadership and middle management. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, is intuitive, and has a passion about building a culture of accountability, compliance, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Lead and manage day-to-day operations across all departments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Help develop new locations. 

  • Executive Liaison: Act as the primary conduit between executive leadership and operational teams, translating strategic goals into actionable plans.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise department heads and project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Compliance & Safety: Help oversee all compliancee from OSHA to DOT to ISO, and ensuring all operations meet regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement systems and processes to streamline operations and improve productivity.

  • Budget & Resource Management: Advocate for department budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to support company growth and profitability.

  • Culture Building: Support HR initiatives to improve morale, retention, and employee engagement across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior operations or general management role within the construction or industrial services sector.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success in change management, process improvement, and compliance implementation.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and apprenticeship program development is a plus.
