The Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls is seeking a Graphic Design / Multi Media Specialist to work in the Chancery Offices located in the Catholic Pastoral Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a creative and faith-filled graphic design and multimedia specialist to develop compelling visual and audio content that aligns with Catholic values and enhances our mission of building up lifelong missionary disciples in the diocese. This role involves designing print and digital materials, managing multimedia projects, and maintaining the diocesan website to engage diverse Catholic audiences. You will be part of an energetic team with a passion for communicating God’s word to the people of eastern South Dakota.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, layout and produce print and digital products including but not limited to monthly publications, event posters and flyers, graphic elements, and promotional materials.

  • Develop and produce video and audio productions including editing and final production. A good ear for recording quality audio is a must.

  • Work closely with other diocesan offices to translate ideas into designs that resonate with the Catholic community.

  • Develop, coordinate and implement website design and postings.

  • Assist with audio and video production of the Sunday TV Mass.

  • Coordinate, produce and ensure effective implementation of layout and design, printing, and dissemination of materials for various projects in print, video, audio and digital media.

  • Collaborate on the coordination and production of collateral materials for special campaigns and events.

  • Manage and coordinate digital image library.

  • Distribute and post multimedia projects via social media, website and other platforms.

  • Take quality photos for events and other projects as needed.

  • Write copy for various projects when needed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Primary:

    • Willingness and ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church’s teachings through the varied ministry activities expected of this position.

    • Willingness and ability to act as a personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one’s professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Church, including without limitation, the Catechism of the roman Catholic Church.

    • Demonstrated mastery with all Adobe Creative Suite products and WordPress.

    • Knowledge of the printing process (digital and offset) for effective deployment of projects.

    • Established proficiency in videography and photography including shooting and editing images.

    • Exceptional creativity, attention to detail, excellent communication, and strong organization skills are a must.

  2. Education:

  • Minimum of a two year post-secondary degree in graphic design, communications, multimedia, or a related field; bachelor degree preferred.

  1. Experience:

    • Minimum of five years of experience in graphic design, multi-media or a related field.

  2. Other Elements:

  • Baptized, Confirmed and active member of the Roman Catholic Church.
