Position Summary
The Seasonal Greenhouse Attendant plays a key role in maintaining the health, appearance, and organization of the store’s greenhouse and live plant area. This position focuses on daily plant care, cleanliness, and customer assistance to ensure an exceptional shopping experience. Plant health and presentation are the top priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily watering of all greenhouse plants according to established guidelines
- Schedule and coordinate watering plans for days when not on-site
- Monitor plant health and report any issues such as pests, disease, or stress
- Organize, rotate, and merchandise plants to maintain an attractive and shoppable display
- Keep greenhouse and surrounding areas clean, safe, and well-organized
- Assist customers and store staff with plant selection, care questions, and purchases
- Support receiving, pricing, and stocking of live plant inventory as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Interest in plants, gardening, or horticulture preferred
- Ability to recognize basic plant health issues (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Friendly, helpful attitude with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to work independently and follow care schedules
- Comfortable working in warm, outdoor/greenhouse conditions
- Able to lift and move plants, soil, and related materials
