POSITION SUMMARY
The part-time Head eSports Coach leads all aspects of the eSports program, including recruitment, player development, team culture, academic support, and competitive success. This position is responsible for attracting and mentoring student-athletes in partnership with Admissions, Athletics, Student Life, & IT.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum standards
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Gaming platform experience
Exhibit strong verbal and written communications skills
Organized; detailed oriented; project management skilled
Able to work independently; self-starter
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet goals
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Recruit prospective eSports students
- Communicate with interested students and families
- Assist with campus visits involving eSports prospects
- Plan and implement daily practices, competitions, and team meetings
- Develop team expectations and standards of conduct
- Mentor students and support academic accountability
- Coordinate with IT regarding equipment, software, and space needs
- Maintain the eSports room as a visit-ready and student-ready space
- Represent DWU at selected recruitment events or competitions
- Help develop a long-term vision for the eSports program
- Ensure compliance with university policies and financial aid boundaries
- Track student participation, recruitment activity, and program outcomes
- Fundraising and partnership development to support the eSports team
