Job Description
                        Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic/Technician inspects, diagnoses, and repairs diesel-powered equipment.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Run diagnostic tests on equipment.
 - Identify problem(s).
 - Make necessary repairs.
 - Test drive the equipment to determine if properly repaired.
 - Performs maintenance activities on heavy equipment.
 - Orders required parts.
 - Experience in the repair of aggregate crushing and wash plant equipment would be considered a plus.
 
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Previous experience in heavy truck, heavy equipment, or automotive mechanics.
 - Your own hand tools.
 - Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
 - Advanced knowledge of diesel equipment, electrical, hydraulic, and drive train systems is preferred.
 - Welding and fabricating experience is a plus.
 - In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms.
 - Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment.
 - Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools.
 - Excellent problem-solving skills.
 - Keen attention to detail.
 - Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics.
 - Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software.
 - A valid driver’s license.
 - Good interpersonal skills.
 - Effective collaboration and communication skills.
 
Locations:
Fort Lupton, Firestone, Platteville - Colorado
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Physical Requirements:
- Exposure to adverse environmental conditions, which may encompass extreme weather phenomena and contact with airborne particles like dust, sand, gravel, and diesel exhaust, among other potential elements.
 - Must have the capacity to engage in physically demanding tasks, including occasional bending, stooping, and kneeling. Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 65 lbs.
 - Regular travel between our sites with a company vehicle is required.
