Heavy Equipment Driver

We are looking for a Lowboy Heavy Equipment Hauler paying Top Wages in the industry.

A Heavy Haul Lowboy Operator drives specialized tractor-trailers to transport oversized or overweight construction and industrial machinery. They are responsible for safely driving on public roads, expertly maneuvering heavy equipment onto the low-deck trailer, and securing the cargo using heavy-duty chains and binders.

The job requires specific skills and daily duties, which include:

  • Load Securing: Driving heavy machinery (such as excavators, bulldozers, or loaders) onto the trailer and chaining them down according to strict safety regulations.
  • Route & Permit Management: Planning routes to avoid low-clearance bridges, restricted roads, and strict weight limit bridges. This frequently involves working with oversized-load permits.
  • Compliance: Adhering to strict Department of Transportation (DOT) hours-of-service laws, maintaining vehicle logs, and conducting thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of brakes, tires, and lights.
  • Requirements: Requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a clean driving record, and usually 2-5 years of specialized experience in heavy haul.

Job Requirements

  • Education & Licensing: High school diploma or GED. Class A Commercial Driver's License with current Med Card.
  • Physical Strength: Ability to endure all weather conditions, constant bumps/jolts from the machinery, and demanding physical labor.
  • Coordination: Excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination to operate multiple pedals, levers, and computerized controls at the same time.
