Job Description
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you are responsible for preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs on various construction equipment and vehicles. This includes concrete saws, commercial trucks, small diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other heavy machinery. This position will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Job Shift and Schedule: This is a Full Time Hourly Position. Typically, Monday – Friday with a 7am start time and occasional overtime
Job Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance: Routine inspections, performing preventative maintenance, and executing repairs on various construction equipment and vehicles. This includes concrete saws, drills and blades, crane trucks, commercial vehicles, and other heavy machinery.
Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and determine the most effective course of action for repairs.
Repair and Replacement: Schedule and complete work orders. Perform repairs and replacements on faulty parts, components, and systems of construction equipment, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and equipment condition.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance and repairs. Ensure all equipment meets regulatory requirements and safety standards.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the Northwest team, including equipment operators, supervisors, and office staff to prioritize maintenance tasks, coordinate equipment availability, and optimize workflow.
Training and Development: Adhere to Northwest Corps values and mission statement. Stay updated on industry advancements, technological innovations, and best practices in maintenance and repair. Participate in provided training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Preferred Job Qualifications
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Some Mechanic or Maintenance Experience is Required
Valid and Current Driver's License is Required (CDL is a plus!)
Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some weekends
Small Diesel Engine Repair Experience is Preferred
Hydraulic Repair Experience is Preferred
Construction Experience Preferred
Ability to work well in a team or independent setting
Attention to detail and precision in work
Ability to manage time and complete priority tasks
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Be able to stand and be on your feet for an entire shift
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
