The HRM is responsible for a full range of HR services including employee relations, legal compliance, staffing, total rewards, and workforce planning. In this role, you would collaborate with and supervise HR Generalists.
Responsibilities:
- serve as an internal HR consultant to executive leadership (including Cabinet members) on people and organizational-related HR items, including state government policies and procedures;
- proactively develop and recommend HR strategic/tactical plans to support agency goals;
- analyze data trends and patterns and raise awareness of implications;
- assess the need for talent in relation to business changes;
- resolve employee relations issues using sound judgment and a solution-oriented approach;
- facilitate organization and leadership development efforts;
- act as a change agent by identifying opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness;
- perform other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:The ability to develop effective partnerships at all levels within the organization, as well as, function as a strong partner/adviser to organizational leadership. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and excellent customer service skills. Additionally, working knowledge of laws/regulations related to human resources, including but not limited to: EEO/Affirmative Action, FLSA, FMLA are required.
A BS or BA in Human Resources or related field, 3-5 years experience in Human Resource field progressing in responsibility, and Human Resource certification are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
- working knowledge of most HR functions and relevant laws and regulations;
- competency-based human resource applications;
- effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts, and effectively coach both managers and employees.
Ability to:
- use tact, diplomacy, discretion, and to handle highly confidential information;
- partner with Senior Leadership on planning and implementation of strategic goals. establish credibility, trust, and partnership at all levels of the organization;
- supervise Human Resource professionals at the specialist and generalist level;
- prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate;
- influence, change thinking, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations without damaging relationships;
- work collaboratively in a team setting and provide leadership.
