Position Overview:Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Human Resources Representative. To provide support and assistance to various HR functions and processes, ensuring that HR operations run smoothly and effectively to support the organization and its employees. Recruiters play a vital role in identifying top talent and ensuring a smooth and effective recruitment process. Manage and execute the organization's recruitment efforts to attract and hire qualified candidates who align with CHS's mission, values, and goals. What You Will Do:- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition: Develop and implement strategies to attract, source, and hire qualified and diverse candidates. Post job openings and utilize multiple sourcing channels including job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
- Candidate Screening & Selection: Review applications, conduct initial candidate screenings, coordinate interviews, and support interview panels. Conduct reference checks and coordinate background screenings while ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- HR Records & Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records including personal information, employment history, and benefits enrollment. Track and manage applicant data and documentation within the HRIS.
- Compliance & Employer Branding: Ensure recruitment practices comply with federal and state employment laws and support efforts to promote CHS as an employer of choice.
- Onboarding and Offboarding: Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including preparing employment documentation, facilitating new employee orientation, and supporting a smooth transition into the organization. Coordinate offboarding processes for departing employees.
- Benefits Administration: Support employee benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries. Assist employees with benefit-related questions and coordinate with benefits providers as needed.
- HR Policies and Procedures: Assist with the implementation and consistent application of HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies and standards.
- Employee Relations Support: Provide initial support to employees on HR-related matters, answer inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate resources.
- HR Projects & Initiatives: Participate in HR projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion efforts, and HR process improvement initiatives.
- General HR Support: Provide administrative support to the HR department, including document management, correspondence, and coordination of HRrelated meetings and events. Utilize the HRIS system to maintain employee records, process updates, generate reports, and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.

Requirements
- Education: A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Some experience in administrative roles or customer service positions can be advantageous. Experience or coursework related to human resources is a plus. Practical experience in recruitment or talent acquisition roles, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) can be advantageous.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc. Extended PC viewing and keyboarding required. Extended periods of sedentary work required.
