Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) Department and ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies. This role will lead key functions, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, compensation, and benefits administration, leave management, performance management, and policy implementation. The HR Manager will serve as a strategic partner by fostering a positive work environment, supporting initiatives that attract, develop, and retain talent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Provides support and guidance to HR and Payroll team members, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigations, and terminations.
• Manages talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants
• Oversees payroll to ensure timely, accurate processing in compliance with government regulations.
• Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
• Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends, including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS).
• Collaborates with the HR team to establish and monitor KPIs and adjust strategies based on emerging trends.
• Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Completes annual salary surveys for all job functions and recommends adjustments based on market conditions.
• Participates in the completion of the day-to-day human resources functions performed by generalists.
• Follows all company safety and environmental policies and all federal regulations (OSHA, MSHA, FRA, EPA, DOT, and SDDANR, IADENR, MNDNR, and CODNR).
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with team members, managers, and vendors.

• Technically proficient with MS Office and HRIS Applications
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• At least five years of human resources management experience required.
• PHR or SHRM Certification highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Position will require occasional work in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather, noise, and dust.
