Job Title: HVAC Fabricator Reports To:Fabrication Shop Manager
Position Overview: The HVAC Fabricator is responsible for constructing, assembling, and performing HVAC fabrication tasks as directed by the Fabrication Shop Manager. This role requires exceptional skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with the standards set by Midwestern Mechanical. The shop fabricator will be making various sizes & types of Ductwork and Duct fittings from drawings and preparing them for installation in the field or shipping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Midwestern Mechanical’s safety, conduct, and quality policies.
- Ensure fabrication tasks are completed on schedule and to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to manage equipment use and material handling, ensuring optimal use of raw materials.
- Foster positive relationships with shop, office, and field staff.
- Assist with off-site field work as needed.

- Detail-oriented with excellent technical and layout skills.
- Capable of working independently with motivation and discipline.
- Effective forward-planning and time management skills.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and organization.
- Team-oriented with a sense of responsibility.
- Ability to train and mentor others as required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Strong hand and arm strength with fine motor skills, capable of gripping and holding objects.
- Ability to use power tools, including those requiring overhead operation.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Comfort with climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working in various body positions (kneeling, crouching, reaching, etc.).
- Able to perform repetitive motion tasks and work in noisy, dusty, and potentially hazardous environments.
- Ability to work with various pieces of equipment. (shear, plasma table, brake, Pittsburg machine)
